The Consortium for the protection of Gorgonzola PDO is preparing for a high-profile appearance at the upcoming edition of SIAL Paris, taking place from October 17 to 21, 2026, at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center. This year marks a significant milestone as the trade show celebrates its 30th anniversary, remaining one of the most prestigious platforms for the global food industry.

France continues to be the world’s leading market for Gorgonzola PDO wheels, with over 250,000 wheels imported in the first half of 2026 alone, according to data from Clal. This performance confirms the country’s status as a primary destination for the Italian blue cheese, having consistently outperformed the German market since 2022.

An exclusive experience in the heart of Paris

To celebrate this strong commercial bond, the AFIDOP (Italian Association of PDO Cheeses) collective will host a special evening on October 19 at Cœur Sacré, a stunning location in the heart of Montmartre. Industry professionals, media, and influencers will be guided through an immersive experience highlighting the heritage and terroir of Italian excellence.

The event will feature masters of ceremonies Pierre&Gabriele, founders of the “Living Cheese Museum,” who will guide guests through an expertly curated cheese bar. Meanwhile, chef Carla Ferrari will present a live cooking show session, showcasing twenty-two Italian cheeses integrated into eleven classic French recipes. A highlight of the menu will be a crispy buckwheat crêpe featuring Gorgonzola PDO, roasted figs, kohlrabi, and celery salad.

Engagement on the trade show floor

Throughout the exhibition, the Consortium’s stand (Hall 7, B161) will serve as a hub for both professionals and culinary enthusiasts. Chef Ferrari will manage tasting services from October 18 to 20, while the French food influencer Alexandre (@alexcook.in) will bring the experience to social media. His content will focus on accessible, seasonal recipes inspired by Italian street food and timeless culinary classics, ensuring that the excellence of PDO products reaches a broad digital audience.
