Italian food group Euricom, the parent company of Curti Srl—owner of the renowned Curtiriso and Riso Flora brands—has officially announced the acquisition of Müller’s Mühle GmbH from GoodMills Deutschland GmbH. This strategic move aims to consolidate the group’s presence in the German market and further its long-term expansion goals in Europe.
Expanding market reach and expertise
Müller’s Mühle, founded in 1893 and headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, provides Euricom with significant expertise and a robust distribution network across all key German channels, including retail, foodservice, and the food industry. By integrating this historic brand into its portfolio, the Italian group continues its international growth strategy, which has recently seen the addition of brands like Sonko in Poland and Ebly in France.
A focus on plant-based proteins
The acquisition serves as a key pillar in strengthening Euricom’s position in the pulse sector—a category experiencing structural long-term growth across Europe. Beyond traditional grain offerings, the move significantly expands the group’s B2B business. Müller’s Mühle operates a state-of-the-art facility, opened in 2021, dedicated to the production of pulse-based proteins and starch flours. These ingredients are essential for modernizing the supply chain and providing the food industry with higher plant-based protein content.
“We are delighted to welcome Müller’s Mühle into the Euricom family,” said Bruno Sempio, President of Euricom. “This company provides exactly what we were missing in Germany: a consolidated team, a competitive site, and a brand known for generations by German consumers.”
As both companies prepare for the transition, Euricom remains committed to the development of the Gelsenkirchen site, leveraging it as a hub for its broader product range. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close within the current year.
