Italy’s coffee giant, Lavazza, is making a strategic entry into the refrigerated ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee market, unveiling a new range of dairy-based beverages developed in collaboration with dairy giant Müller. This launch is a significant milestone for the Italian coffee producer as it diversifies its portfolio to meet the growing consumer demand for premium, convenient, and on-the-go coffee solutions.
A synergy of expertise
The new line seamlessly integrates Lavazza’s century-old coffee heritage with Müller’s established capabilities in chilled dairy manufacturing. The collection features four distinct Italian-inspired beverages: Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Caramel Latte, and the dessert-inspired Cappuccino Tiramisù. Each product comes in a 220 ml format, crafted to deliver a sophisticated café-style experience in a convenient, portable package.
Strategic expansion and market reach
Following successful introductions in Germany and Italy, the UK rollout is part of a broader European expansion strategy. The company has confirmed that the products are currently available at Sainsbury’s, with plans for wider distribution across additional UK retailers in the coming months. To bolster visibility, the range is being showcased at the Wimbledon Queue, highlighting the ongoing partnership between Lavazza and The Championships.
As the RTD segment continues to gain momentum, this move reinforces Lavazza’s ambition to extend its presence beyond traditional coffee formats. By focusing on premiumization and convenience, the brand is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the evolving chilled coffee landscape.
