Italy’s chocolate company, Pernigotti, has been announced as the official sponsor for the cocoa and chocolate category at the Tiramisù World Cup 2026 (TWC), marking the tenth edition of the global amateur competition dedicated to celebrating the best tiramisu recipes.
The event will feature a series of competitions across Italy and abroad, culminating in semi-finals and finals scheduled from October 9 to 11 in Treviso. A total of 240 contestants will compete with original and creative recipes. Preliminary rounds will be judged by a jury of volunteer enthusiasts, while the final stages will be evaluated by professional judges, journalists, and food industry experts.
STRATEGIC SPONSORSHIP AND GLOBAL EXPANSION
Pernigotti’s participation includes exclusive product category rights for cocoa and chocolate across Europe, Great Britain, and Ireland. This aligns with the company’s international growth strategy, which currently sees its products distributed in nearly 50 countries.
The partnership carries symbolic and strategic value. Cocoa, introduced as an official ingredient of the TWC starting from this tenth edition, is both an essential component of tiramisu and a cornerstone of Pernigotti’s expertise, developed over 165 years at its historic base in Novi Ligure, Piedmont.
PRODUCT INNOVATION TARGETS GROWING TIRAMISU TREND
During the competition, Pernigotti will showcase new tiramisù-flavored products designed to capture a rapidly growing consumption trend in both Italian and European markets.
These include:
- Tiramisù Snacks, aimed at everyday and impulse consumption, is now launching in large-scale retail distribution channels.
- The new “Scrigno al Tiramisù” praline, an evolution of one of the brand’s iconic products, combines chocolate with the signature creaminess of Italy’s most famous dessert.
The Pernigotti logo will also feature prominently across event materials and setups, alongside dedicated in-store and on-site initiatives targeting audiences and participants.
“The tiramisu is the most well-known Italian dessert worldwide, and cocoa is an essential ingredient,” said Francesco Pastore, CEO of Pernigotti. “Being alongside the Tiramisù World Cup 2026 means bringing our excellence into a competition that celebrates Italian cuisine across Europe and beyond. The Tiramisù Snacks and the new Scrigno al Tiramisù praline are our tangible response to a growing consumption trend, while also building brand value in international markets that are central to our industrial plan.”
Francesco Redi, founder and creator of the Tiramisù World Cup, added: “I welcome this new partnership with great enthusiasm, as it fits perfectly into the continuous growth that has accompanied the TWC year after year since 2017. Once again, the event will serve as a platform to promote the most popular spoon dessert, enriched by the quality of the Pernigotti brand. This represents an additional strength in enhancing, both in Italy and globally, this iconic brand and the broader heritage of Italian cuisine, recognized as an intangible asset of humanity.”
