At the 57th edition of Vinitaly, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) brought 359 international wine industry professionals from 55 countries to Veronafiere, leveraging the network of 45 overseas offices.
“US tariffs are a concern, but they must be tackled with rationality and the right strategy,” the ITA said in a statement. “The Italian government is addressing the issue with determination. It’s crucial to provide businesses with accurate information. To that end, we’ve prepared an initial guidance note with the relevant regulatory references and will offer companies further operational tools.”

The ITA is focusing on high-potential markets, with initiatives such as Vinitaly events in China, Brazil, and the Balkans, as well as Wine to Asia, Wine Vision, and “I Love Italian Wines,” seen as key opportunities to boost commercial pressure.

“The US market is indispensable,” the ITA added. “Valued at over €1.2 billion, it holds significant sway over global markets. We must maintain a presence: if some buyers don’t come to us, we’ll go to them, bringing Italian excellence directly to the heart of their markets.”
