Eataly Flatiron hosted an 18-Hour party

On May 21, Eataly’s flagship location in New York City threw a party to celebrate its renovated store. It unveiled nearly 1,800 square feet of additional space on its Fifth Avenue entrance between 23rd and 24th Street. The biggest addition to the location is a new coffee counter for Caffè Vergnano that can seat 80 people. The Flatiron’s seafood restaurant, Pesce, was remodeled. Eataly opened its Flatiron location 14 years ago.

“Eataly Loves NYC” started at 6 am with a community dance party and morning yoga. Bites and sips were offered. At 9 am, coffee lovers saw the opening of the Caffè Vergnano counter with specialty coffee drinks and pastries. Throughout the day, from 11 am- 11 pm, there were storewide tastings from over twenty local and Italian producers. It’s just one way the Italian marketplace highlights its relationships with Italian imports. New York-based artist Jade Purple Brown unveiled the store’s redesigned kiosk. Brown’s inspiration comes from the city and icons of Italian food. La Piazza turned into a late-night destination. Partygoers enjoyed a lineup of DJ sets at the restaurant while the restaurant and marketplace were open late.

The event was free and open to the public.
