At SANA 2022 trade show Italianfood.net met Akiteru Imai, General Manager of the Supply Chain Division at Bio c’Bon Japon. Now part of the Aeon Group, Bio c’Bon is the only organic-specialized food chain in Japan. The presence of Italian organic products in the Far East country is bound to grow, as Italy is a leading country in Europe in terms of cultivated area and organic production capacity.
“The Japanese organic food market is still small, and we need to import many products. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people are more conscious of their health, and concentrating more and more on organic products for their daily life. Here at SANA 2022 exhibition, many things surprised me, especially when it comes to food innovation,” Akiteru Imai told us.
