Olio Basso has been in the food oil production and packaging business since 1904. It’s been over a hundred years since the foundation, and today the company is still growing, with a yearly turnover of 80 million euro, 75% of which on foreign markets. The company exports to over 70 countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Africa and the main EU countries. The company’s core business is extra-virgin olive oil and olive oil. Besides its brand, the company supplies over 120 brands to the private label sector.
Sustainable production
In the 12,500 square meters of the production plant in San Michele di Serino, a few kilometres away from Avellino, Campania, the company has seven production lines for the packaging of olive oil, with a daily capacity of about 200,000 kilos of oil. Products are packaged in a wide range of formats (glass and PET bottles, cans), according to HAACP, the systematic preventive approach ensuring food safety in all production stages. Moreover, Olio Basso is fully autonomous in terms of energy due to two zero-impact photovoltaic systems: solar panels are on the roof of the plant.
Products
The portfolio includes mill-made unfiltered extra-virgin olive oil; organic extra-virgin olive oil; PDO and monocultivar. Also, the company offers packaging of olive pomace oil, as well as other oils made with sunflower seeds, peanuts, corn, soy, grape seeds, rice, and other seeds.
