Acetum presents Melinda apple vinegar

Melinda Consortium – the Italian specialist in apples, which collects from over 4,000 fruit-growers who grow about 6,700 hectares of apple orchards in the Val di Non and Val di Sole – and Acetum – leader in the production of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI and one of the largest producers of apple vinegar with over 2 million litres per year – announce their partnership and bring ‘Melinda’ apple vinegar to the market. In seasonings, apple vinegar has registered the best sales performances in recent years. It is the third segment by value (approximately 18 million euro) in the Italian vinegar market; with a +11.5% growth in 2017 it marked the highest growth trend in value in the retail channel.

Two specialists for a high-quality range

In this context, the vinegar specialist meets the apple leader to create a range of high quality apple vinegar – says Acetum commercial director Marco Pellacani. This product is entirely obtained from fresh apple juice of the Melinda controlled chain, through a natural acetification process. This method of production ensures that the quality characteristics of raw material are maintained, while preserving its genuineness. Melinda consolidates its role in the field of processed products, increasing the value of apples used in industry, defending at the same time the values of the brand, the quality of cultivation, the Italian nature, and the control of the supply chain.

The product range

Three references are available since the beginning of 2018: traditional apple vinegar, organic apple vinegar, and apple vinegar glaze with natural mother. Thanks to the high quality of the ingredients and its organoleptic properties, this is an ideal choice not only as a condiment for everyday dishes but also as a drink of wellness: a growing trend among Italian consumers increasingly attentive to health.
