BC Gourmet acquires Sauces ‘n Love

Always focused on the high-quality fresh food sector, BC Gourmet SpA is targeting international markets with the development of a new and more comprehensive offer. The goal is to bring its specialties abroad through a strategy consistent with the will to grow and the company’s development. Hence the landing on the US market with the recent acquisition of Sauces ‘n Love, a company that is active in the United States and specializing in the production of high-quality sauces and seasonings inspired by Italian tradition. This operation goes well with BC Gourmet philosophy for the production of foods made with carefully selected ingredients, but above all with the desire to consolidate its presence in the United States.

Focus on quality

Sauces ‘n Love has always been recognized for the ability to create and manage successful brands such as Scarpetta, getting the SQF Level II certification which demonstrates its high-quality and safety production standards. The BC Gourmet acquisition strategy was mainly based on three key axes: the development of the historical and consolidated business of Sauces ‘n Love, thanks to the knowledge and skills imported from Italy; the launch of a new pesto line of excellence, made directly in the United States with PDO basil; finally, the use of the Sauces ‘n Love shopping channels for the distribution of other BC Gourmet products such as gnocchi (dumplings), which are the company’s most important product.

The deal

The opening of a new company, BC Gourmet USA Inc, is planned for the management of the Sauces ‘n Love business. No drastic change in sight however, since Paolo Volpati – the founder of the company – remains a minority shareholder while continuing to retain his post as chairman. The company’s trademark will not change, unlike the social name which changes from Snl to BCG USA Inc. A move that opens new growth possibilities for BC Gourmet Spa worldwide. An important contribution to the success of the operation came from shareholders Gradiente and Siparex, two real estate companies active in the field of investment in line with company choices and management’s vision of the future of BC Gourmet.
