Amidst concerns of food security and sustainability in Asia, THAIFEX-World of Food Asia returns in its 14th edition to decode these challenges for future generations. Opening its halls to F&B professionals, the opening ceremony of the five-day trade show, that runs till 4 June 2017, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Khun Somkid Jatusripitak, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. Jointly organized by Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), THAIFEX-World of Food Asia will leverage the synergistic private-public partnership to address key concerns of the F&B industry in Asia, especially so with Thailand located at the heart of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Great numbers and business opportunities
Modelled after the highly successful global trade show, Anuga, the event promises visitors unprecedented access to international business opportunities, and also taps into the organizers’ wealth of experience in gathering the region’s F&B movers and shakers. Building on the success from its previous edition, THAIFEX-World of Food Asia 2017 is cut across 9 halls, boasting a 15% increase in floor space, from 80,000 square metres to 93,500 square metres. More than 45,000 industry professionals are expected to congregate, establish professional networks and exchange ideas. Innovation will also take a front seat as a recurring theme throughout this year’s trade show. We want to help facilitate the integration of ASEAN with global markets, and establish a brand that is closely associated with quality, innovation, trends and significant trade opportunities. The international showcase at this year’s event is a clear testimony of our commitment, said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director at Koelnmesse Pte Ltd. I am confident that THAIFEX-World of Food Asia will this year and the next play a powerful role in enhancing product development and business operators’ ability to compete and expand sales of the country’s food products across numerous global markets with success, reputation and international acceptance in Thailand’s potential as it proudly ascends to become ‘The Kitchen of the World’ said Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak in his opening address.
