CROATIA, FAST GROWING MARKET – The coffee market is growing at a very fast rate in this country. Surveys by independent agencies state that the average time spent in cafés reaches five hours per week. The popularity of coffee as a social drink is surpassed only by its consumption at home, which is even bigger. Lavazza is currently the third largest in coffee sales in the food service channel in Croatia and a market leader in capsules for the office segment. The Italian company has been present in Croatia for over 20 years and its products were previously distributed by the local coffee, tea, and snacks company, Franck.
