There is a new opening in Dubai for the Italian grocery Eataly which has celebrated its second store in the UAE, located in Dubai’s Festival City, promising to offer local ‘foodies’ high-quality Italian food and drink. As well as having a grocery section, the store has spaces to learn about Italian culture, and eight restaurants. The store shelves feature typical products from across Italy’s 20 regions, and Eataly says that each product is carefully selected by an expert buying team.
OUTLETS IN QATAR AND SAUDI ARABIA OPENING SOON – Eataly’s Chief Executive, Luca Baffigo, said that there is an appetite for Italian cuisine combined with high food consumption in the region, which makes it an attractive market for expansion. In the next 12 months, Eataly is willing to open two new outlets in Qatar and one in Saudi Arabia. In Qatar, you will find an ‘Eataly’ in the Mall of Qatar and in Doha Festival City. The one in Saudi Arabia wll be located on Tahlia Street, in Riyadh. Abu Dhabi and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, are eyed as possible locations also.
THE MOST LOVED PRODUCTS – Among the Italian products most loved in the UAE include durum wheat pasta from Gragnano, Piedmont’s egg pasta, mineral water from the Marittime Alps, Veneto wines, Ponente Riviera Ligure oil, Piedmont’s fassona meat, and traditional Italian cheese and cold cuts.
FAMOUS ITALIAN BRANDS IN THE STORES – The store also stocks Illy coffee and features a Juice Bar as well as a Nutella sales point. It includes the Middle East’s first Venchi gelataria. With recipes and educational free tastings, Emirates shoppers will also be able to learn how to recreate traditional Italian dishes in their own kitchens.
