In the UK Saclà produces a range of pesto, pasta sauce and anti-pasti ingredients and remains brand leaders of the Pesto category with a market share continuing to climb, currently standing at 57.3%. For the celebration of its 25th years (see video below), the Italian company has decided to revise its logo  giving it a more contemporary feel.

THE NEW LOOK – Copper leaf is visible across all facing labels giving a more premium stand-out on shelf. The Pesto labels also feature numbers in order of launch date with number 1 Classic Pesto being the first Sacla’ product launched in the UK 25 years ago. The new branding will feature immediately on the core Pesto range.“The new Pesto labels give the jars their own premium identity whilst the overall design provides a warmth and Italian authority to the brand. We are delighted to be celebrating our 25th year and have a series of other activities planned to ensure Sacla’ continues to be at the forefront of Italian food in the UK.”Clare Blampied, managing director of Sacla UK commented.

2016, A SPECIAL YEAR – Saclà is a family owned business currently run by the third generation of the Ercole family. “2016 is a special and significant year for Sacla’ in the UK as we reach the 25 year milestone – added Blampied – . The new branding hails a more contemporary feel whilst highlighting the rich Italian heritage”.

SACLA’ RAMPS UP NPD WITH FREE FROM SAUCE – Saclà is adding to the growth of the free from category with the launch of Free From Wild Mushroom Risotto. Launching on 22 February in Tesco, the new risotto sauce (available priced £2.49) is gluten, wheat and dairy free and is made in Italy by the founding Italian family. Saclà Free From Risotto is the eighth Free From launch from Saclà in under 2 years and the range is currently experiencing strong growth with unit sales growing at +30.2% (vs. the total Italian FF Sauces category at +14.8%) making the fastest growing major brand in Italian Free From. This new risotto sauce, made with generous handfuls of Champignon and Nameko mushrooms, is a shortcut to the classic Italian dish.

ALSO SUITABLE FOR VEGANS – The risotto sauce is also suitable for vegans (currently 12% of the UK population identify as either vegan or vegetarian, with 20% of 16-25 year olds self-identifying in this way). “With meal solutions within Free From primarily focused on gluten-free pasta, the Sacla’ Free From Risotto Sauce allows consumers to expand their recipe repertoire further using naturally gluten free products such as rice, quinoa & other grains. Clare Blampied, concluded.
