Ferrero Group to invest 21 million euro in its production plant in Belgium

The Ferrero Group, one of the market leaders of the confectionery industry, continues to strengthen its presence in the global scenario. In line with this, the Italian company will invest 21 million euro in its production plant based in Arlon, already active and located in a small city, between Belgium and Luxembourg, in order to guarantee and further improve the quality of many of its popular products such as Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, and Kinder Bueno. The investment, moreover, will provide a new line of production for the 100 gram Kinder Eggs.

The mutual interests between Ferrero’s long-term and quality-oriented investment approach, and Belgium’s historical, valuable, and consolidated presence in the European hazelnut market, will represent a significant opportunity for a sustainable and leading growth of the Italian chocolate sector in the future. For example, Ferrero is expected to create 50 new jobs next year after the investment, in addition to the existing 700 jobs.

The Belgian headquarters of Ferrero Group is in Brussels where a food cluster has taken shape within the Brussels Enterprise Agency (BEA) to help Brussels-based active companies. This dynamism is reflected in the fact that some of the world’s leading multinationals have chosen to place their European, regional, or Belgian headquarters in this area, including Nestlé, Danone, Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Monsanto. The plant in Arlon would allow Ferrero to also deliver Kinder Eggs to Belgian consumers quickly and to Northern Europe which now represents one of the world’s most promising chocolate markets.
