Exports of Italian sparkling wine increased further and topped one billion euros in total turnover year-to-date, a new record for the sector in the country. Foreign sales, indeed, rose 19% in January-August, an uptrend that was boosted in the subsequent months by a growing demand in the run-up to the winter festivities.
Sales of Italian sparkling wine rose to a record level, driven by strong demand in the US, the UK, and China. For example, demand for Italian sparkling wine in the UK has increased 50% in value in the first eight months of this year.
