Innovation was a highlight at Anuga with the Global Competence in Food – Italian Awards 2015, an event organized by Koelnmesse and the Italian publishing group Food, sponsored by Inalca Food & Beverage, which valued the most interesting new Italian food industry products aimed at international markets. The award ceremony took place during the “Aperitivo Italiano”, the traditional event dedicated to Italian exhibitors at the Cologne fair and to worldwide distribution, which was attended by leaders of the tradefair world, institutions and food and beverage sector companies: Gerald Böse (ceo of Koelnmesse), Luigi Scordamaglia (president of Federalimentare) and Maurizio Martina (Italian Minister of Agriculture) both in a live video link from Expo, Franz Martin Rausch (ceo of BVLH), Thomas Rosolia (Italy Koelmesse Italy eco) and Augusto Cremonini (president of Inalca Food & Beverage). The products were selected based on certain parameters such as, innovation of the formula or ingredients of the product selection and range, new type of consumption, the ability to create new consumer segments, new packaging and formats, communication, environment friendly and award of food safety, traceability and sustainability, in the broadest sense, the creation of new sales channels and supply chain.
