Idea Taste of Italy, launched one year ago by Idea Capital Funds Sgr, owned by Dea Capital ( De Agostini) to back Italian SMEs operating in the food industry, has started investing. Indeed, the fund makes its first step in La Piadineria, a Brescia based food company. Co-founded by Antonio Milani and Franco Beccaria, the company currently has 80 stores making piadinas across Italy. It employs 160 people and has a turnover of Eur 25 million.
The deal is about 30 million euros and Idea Taste will get 70% of shares of capital of La Piadineria. “The choice of La Piadineria is a deal that represents a well starting point for us.” says Pierluca Antolini, managing director of Idea Taste of Italy. Meanwhile the fund is dedicated to the best of food industry. Consequently it invests in mid-sized companies that have proved good profitable growth potential, with solid and focused operational models.
