Alce Nero bets on organic

Alce Nero bets on organic

If made in Italy stands for quality, ‘100% organic’ stands for an additional guarantee and genuineness. Based on these features, Alce Nero & Mielizia is carrying out its expansion plan in foreign markets, confirming the significant growth trend in overseas sell out. For example, almost half of the sales of ready-made sauces is linked to the export, with further growth expectations in the coming years. Products like pasta, extra virgin olive oil and tomato puree appeal to foreign consumers, especially in countries which show a high level of health awareness and interest in typical Italian cuisine. The Monterenzio (Bologna) company, consisting of more than thousand organic farms, bee farms and fair-trade producers, is currently represented in thirty international markets, namely: Japan, Russian, South East Asia and China. Moreover, in China, this Bolognese producer was the first Italian brand to get the organic certification. In addition of the launch of the new ragù meat sauce, the brand has just expanded its product portfolio with a complete line of Generation Bio organic baby foods. This last new entry represents a challenge for the brand even in foreign markets, where it counts on brand awareness to expand its target range,  aiming to increase its market share in large scale retail trade. It consists of a range of eighteen different products designed for children from zero to three years old: gluten free fruit, meet, fish and vegetable purees for babies, cream of hulled wheat and Baldo rice, pastas made of hulled wheat and Senatore Capelli wheat, hulled wheat biscuits, light fruity extra virgin olive oil and chamomile tea. All the raw materials are genuinely Italian and do not contain preservatives, artificial colours or scents. In addition to current laws in force regarding baby products, Alce Nero baby foods also do not contain such not-so-healthy ingredients as salt, sucrose or palm oil.
